Slitter Shaft

Slitter Shaft Tidland manufactures a range of slitter shafts to suit your slitting needs. Our air expanding slitter shafts provide quick and precise repositioning of the anvil rings. Deflate the expanding elements, slide the anvil rings to the new positions and inflate the elements to securely lock the anvil rings in position. Tidland slitter shafts are designed and built to your specifications and can be retrofitted in any slitting section of a machine. A wide variety of support bearings and drive mechanisms can be accommodated by design of Tidland slitter shaft journals. Slitter shafts can be manufactured in OD sizes from 3î (76 mm) to 24î (610 mm) and width sizes allowable by OD size, speed and deflection considerations.

Slitter shafts are manufactured to strict tolerances  to minimize anvil ring wobble,  ground and chrome plated and dynamically balanced for your particular machine speed.

  • The Series 950 GK Slitter Shaft has external expanding rubber elements for easy and precise locking of the anvil rings in position. The Series 950 is designed for light-to medium-duty applications.  The external expanding elements can be replaced without removing the anvil rings.
  • The Series 900 KA Slitter Shaft has polyurethane-bonded metal leaves expanded by an internal rubber tube, for positive grip of the anvil rings. The Series 900 is of very durable construction best suited for medium-to heavy-duty applications.
  • The series 905 KT tubular and 910 K solid, non-expanding, slitter shafts cover applications where expansion of grip elements is not necessary or possible. The operator locks the anvil rings in place on the slitter shaft with set screws.
  • Options for slitter shafts include rotary union air system, remote air valve, key way with calibrated tape for easy anvil ring positioning and a variety of anvil rings of different materials to suit your particular application, such as hardened steel, carbide or ceramic. Hardened steel sleeved slitter shafts are also available for use with score or crush slitting applications.
